Meet Monique Cox — Executive Sales Manager at Hotel Verde

Monique Cox started at BA Comair on the 1st of October 1999 as a customer service agent and thus began climbing her way up the corporate ladder. Her focus and interest at the time was developing and up-skilling herself, as she believed that this was the key to self-improvement and long-term success.

She soon worked her way up to Check-in Manager, and later Ticket Desk Manager, all within the five-year period she was employed with the airline.

After building this strong foundation for herself, she pursued travelling to the UK and started working for Exodus Travel, a major tour operator in the United Kingdom. Her first position was Flight Specialist in the flights division. She further progressed to become a Flight Supervisor, and subsequently received a proposal to run the entire flights division within the TUI group. She then chose to focus on starting her family which resulted in two beautiful daughters.

When the family relocated to South Africa, Monique started working for Travel with Flair Cape Town as a Key Accounts Manager looking after the government sector. Monique also ventured into the bid writing sector, after which she moved to BCD Travel to become New Business Sales & Key Accounts Manager.

After gleaning 17 years of unmissable experience, she joined Mango Airlines as Regional Sales Manager for the Western Cape, where she soon made a name for herself in the industry and accumulated various accolades for excelling in her division. As part of her duties, she managed numerous corporates, as well as the biggest OTA in South Africa, namely Travel Start.

She has recently joined the Hotel Verde team as the Executive Sales Manager, where she currently oversees and maintains all of the hotel’s corporate and top-producing accounts.
