The comprehensive spa facility offers guests a luxurious haven to unwind and revel in the verdant oasis that is Verde Vita. Initially conceived to meet the needs of Hotel Verde guests seeking serenity after long flights, the spa started as a modest facility within the hotel. Recognising the demand for expansion, Hotel Verde transformed vacant office spaces into an expansive spa facility.
With the collaboration of a dedicated team, including the local South African architectural firm Ohkre Collective, construction company Phase Three, green consultant André Harms of Ecolution, and spa consultant Jacoline Wentzel of Spa Warehouse, Verde Vita was meticulously designed to infuse sustainability into every aspect.
Former Miss South Africa, Amy Kleinhans-Curd joined CEO Mario Delicio and the Hotel Verde team as guest of honour to take part in an opening ceremony and ribbon cutting on the 21st of November 2023.
“I’m passionate about supporting local businesses with sustainability at the core of their ethos, and it was a delight to discover the wonders of Verde Vita,” she said. “This new establishment, with its focus on offering fresh, organic, and locally sourced produce, is a testament to the growing trend of eco-consciousness in South Africa.”
What Makes a Spa Sustainable Though?
As a boutique spa, Verde Vita seamlessly integrates the core values of Hotel Verde, combining sustainability with luxurious guest experiences. The spa’s aesthetic features curved walls, green wall finishes, arched retail shelves, and a reception desk inspired by organic shapes found in nature. Jacoline Wentzel, the spa consultant from Spa Warehouse, shares her vision for Verde Vita, stating, “As the spa consultant on the job, I wanted to make sure that not only does the spa function well, but that it follows the green philosophy of Hotel Verde. We carefully selected local manufacturing for our spa equipment, including beechwood massage beds and trolleys.”
“Our loungers, such as those in the Breathing Room, were locally manufactured, and we sourced linen towels from local manufacturers too. The treatment menu consists of professional treatments using only South African product ranges, which are certified organic or natural, aligning with Verde Vita’s philosophy of Green Life.’”

Verde Vita features three beautifully appointed treatment rooms — Magnolia, Lavender, and Jasmine — named after popular flowering plants. The single massage treatment rooms can easily be converted into a double treatment room for couples seeking relaxation together. The spa also offers an infrared cabin, a manicure and pedicure treatment section, an eyelash extension treatment room, and a post-treatment Breathing Room.
